  • I owned a 2011 GLK 4matic, and I never had one problem with it. I bought mine used, and it had some of the best maintenance records. The one he is reviewing obviously was rode hard. Not a fair assessment of a used GLK.

About right. I owned a GLK350 for 3 years. Too many things went wrong with it and the dealership said they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. 🙄 Glad we got rid of it.

  • So then Scotty, what type of car would you recommend for a first time car buyer

  • It’s funny when people complain about mb-Tex when in reality it’ll outlast them by a long shot

  • ITS DISCONTINUED SO YOU CANT EVEN BUY IT

  • It said 134,661 km on the milage. It’s just in kilometres instead of miles. It converted it correctly. What are you trying to pull here?

  • Stupid. I bought a brand need 2015 GLK 350 and after 5 year the car runs perfect. No issues at all. Just changed oil and brake pads.

  • GLK is a simple car, based on a C class. Im suprised that engine is going bad already, I know the early m272 v6 had balance shaft issues, but it was fix mid 2008 and the glk didn't come out until 2011. Unless the engine didn't have proper maintenance or the engine happen to be a lemon or physical damage, the m272 v6 shouldn't have too much issue besides the usual oil leaks from the oil cooler and the infamous plastic intake manifold runner switch that breaks around 80k miles, which cost around $800 to replace.

  • We got 4 of those in our company 2016 with 200.000km on the odometer. Still running strong 💪🏻 zero problems

  • If you have coolant in the oil of your wife car, then ask your wife if she been adding coolant recently.

  • What do think about used Toyota Highlander? I'm about to buy one (2009)

  • That’s one bad engine and one bad example. I personally own one of these and it has been rock solid…. zero problems. Ive owned 5 Mercedes and they are not anywhere near as bad as this guy makes them seem. Yea parts are more expensive but if you maintain them they are great cars. Ive run 3 of the 5 Ive owned over 200,000 miles and sold them running great. The other two I still own and they are great. Both have the exact same engine as this video and they are very reliable engines. Again that’s one bad engine that wasn’t maintained properly.

  • got a GLK 2015 with 68k now and had 0 Problems… made in Garmany

  • Mercedes are good cars. I have a 2016 GLA 250 and zero problems so far

Not everyone wants a boring Toyota!!!

  • Mercedes's owners barely or don't maintain at all their vehicles , guess what happens when you end up buying em used ?! ..

  • That car is good you don’t no what you are talking about

  • what do you you charge for a used car diagnostic.

He just made me feel Mercedes is a trash

  • When a Mercedes malfunctions – you don't need a Mechanic – you need IBM!

it probably need a few hundred in work, and its fixed..
lol, the GLK 350 with that v6 is actually a very reliable vehicle, not expensive to work on and are under 14k for a nice example.. buy the AWD drive one tho.. come on Scotty!!

  • Never a problem out of our 1999 ML320 and finally traded it in on a 2011 GLK 350 . it's 2020 and absolutely no issues with it so far . We do a service once per year .

  • At the Motor Bureau dont they see that the car had the wrong mileage here in canada if the mileage doesnt fit with papers there is a red flag

  • The Diesel versions here in europe usualy hold very long (from what i experienced)

  • Scotty the goofball. One of the better SUV's out there.

  • It needs a transmission mount-I can HEAR it-when they are collapsed you can FEEL every cylinder fire-very harsh.

  • I love my GLK350 4matic. Been super reliable and is a beast in the snow

  • I was given one of these as a loaner car – heck of fun to drive. Plenty of punch.

  • My father bought one back in 2009.diesel 2.2 turbo. There were some problems with the engine at first and the dealership fixed it for Free. When the software was updated, we didnt have any problems beyond regular maintenance costing 500 dollars per year, until today 250k miles later

  • Man u r the first person I´ve heard saying that about the GLK.

  • I just bought one today! Really. And it's gonna be awesome. 2011 but diesel. It was recommended by my mechanic….. and in Germany. He cringes when I mention Audi and shrugs at BMW. Wish me luck. I had a mechanic (sorta) like scotty. He said the only car worth buying was a Camry. I never listen.

  • 83672 miles = exactly 134657,03 kilometers. Gotcha!

  • Hmmmm I have an E-class with the same engine. It does not sound anything like that when revving it. This car sounds more like a 4 cylinder not a V6.

  • Waste of time watching this video

  • Your funny man 🤣 I love your videos

  • My neighbor had 4 and each one has reached over 180k miles with minimum issues.

Glks are actually very reliable from my experience with one – just keep up with regular maintenance

This guy is too dramatic, like bro really…

  • This guy is an epic joke

  • I own this Mercedes (2012 model 2WD) with 106k miles and i havent had any problems besides some headlight issues. We bought it almost 2 years ago used with 82k miles. Idk i guess i'm lucky?

  • Older Mercedes were very reliable the newer one has problems wouldn't buy a newer Mercedes.

  • also in terms of luxury SUV's, the GLK is far more reliable than the audi q5, bmw x3, and obviously way nicer than any american "luxury" suv lol

  • How bout them 1.8 MILLION toyotas recalled for failing fuel pumps that can cause their cars to RANDOMLY STALL AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT, like when youre on the highway taking ur family somewhere…..??

  • As others have already pointed out, the mileage „scam“ at the 3:05 Minute marker is nothing but the US mileage on the odometer measured in kilometers by the vehicle‘s ecu. European cars in general do all their internal accounting in kms not miles. This is true for BMWs, Mercedes, Audi etc. Stuff like this is exactly why I rarely watch Scotty Kilmer. There are so many less hyped up, more realistic car Youtubers out there.

  • 13661 km = 83674 miles,why did you trick us Mr. Kilmer

  • I  bought Certified pre-owned GLK 350 2011 from Mercedes dealership @ 50k miles in April 2017. No trouble so far except for regular wear and tear e.g. changing oil, tires and brakes. Knock on wood!
